Accent Reduction

Accent and regional dialect reduction are not easy to achieve, but with effort and good motivation, they ARE achievable! Why should this be undertaken?

Your accent may interfere with your success not only in your career, but in various life situations as well. Some people are not tolerant of heavy accents and will make "snap judgments" about a person who speaks with an accent or dialect.

"Your accent can be an asset. However, don't let it interfere with your message."
One-on-one therapy is ideal, so that an individual's own unique difficulties and learning styles can be addressed and worked with; however, group sessions can be held on-site for your convenience (with sufficient group numbers). Instructions are methodical and are most definitely not based on imitation, or on only one aspect of what needs to be changed; intonation, pronunciation, the "music" of the language, and other modifications are all examined and worked on as necessary.

Length of Program:
The individual's needs, degree of accent, motivation, time constraints, and consistency all determine just how much time it takes to reach desired goals. One must become very attentive to one's own speech at all times, and attempting "new" pronunciations will initially feel very awkward and even "silly;" everyone has their own pace at which they progress with this. Every nine weeks, progress is assessed and goals revised, if necessary.
